From kindergarten to 10th grade, PURA VIDA accompanies children and young people on their educational journey.

PURA VIDA is a day school. Lessons start at 8:15 in the morning and the doors are open at 7:45 a.m. In the afternoon, the children and young people have lessons until 3:30/4:15pm, after which they can work at school — accompanied by teachers — until 17:00.
Outside school hours and on tuition-free afternoons, it is possible for the children to be cared for until 17:00. PURA VIDA is a state-approved private school and offers kindergarten and the 1st to 10th school year in the context of public and private training offerings in Eastern Switzerland.
8:15 a.m.
We start the day together with a thematic introduction or setting goals for this morning. PURA VIDA then focuses on the main subjects German, French, English and mathematics. The inputs are mainly made in year groups; depending on the learning content, cross-year lessons also take place.
12:00 p.m.
We'll have lunch together. We take care of the lunches for children and young people.

1:00 p.m.
The afternoon is dedicated to arts, sports and science subjects, project-oriented work and self-organized learning. The individual interests and strengths of learners should be addressed. The students are accompanied by teachers.
3:30/4:15 p.m.
Classes for kindergarten and grades 1 through 6 end at 3:30 p.m.
Classes for students in grades 7 through 10 end at 3:30 p.m. or 4:15 p.m.
After that, additional supervision is available until 5:00 p.m.

The joy of learning is particularly evident in kindergarten and in the first years of primary school. In guided and free activities, children are encouraged to maintain and develop this joy of learning. First steps in reading, writing and arithmetic are taken carefully and gently introduce the children to primary school. The close cooperation of teachers supports the optimal development of every child.
To facilitate early access to a first foreign language, the first two years of kindergarten are taught mainly in English. Reading and writing skills are introduced in German from the second year of kindergarten or the first year of school. This ensures a balanced ratio of subjects taught in German and English.
Classes for kindergarten and grades 1 and 2 begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The children eat lunch together under supervision. There are no classes on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Supervision is available from 7:45 a.m. and additional afternoon supervision is available until 5:00 p.m.
In the 3rd to 6th year of primary school, children are supported in a stimulating learning environment and increasingly supported to learn independently. By dealing with various topics individually and jointly, they discover their potential and consciously help shape their everyday learning routine.
As in the 1st and 2nd school years, the core subjects of German and mathematics are taught in German, but from the 3rd school year onwards, English is taught as a subject. In order to further consolidate the knowledge acquired in this language, the subjects NMG (nature, humans, society), ERG (ethics, religion, community) as well as music and sports are taught in English.
Classes for primary school students in grades 3 to 6 begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. The supervised lunch is eaten together by the children.
There are no classes on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Supervision is available from 7:45 a.m. and additional afternoon supervision until 5:00 p.m.
In addition to deepening skills and knowledge in the various subjects, the talents, interests and preferences of young people in lower secondary education should be further discovered and promoted. For this purpose, lessons are increasingly being taught in a project-like manner, which focuses on working independently and working in small groups.
Another focus is on preparing students optimally for the transition to upper secondary education (high school, FMS technical college, IMS computer science college, etc.) and providing them with close guidance and support in their career choice and career development process.
The 7th to 10th school years of secondary level I are designed to prepare students for their time after elementary school. The majority of subjects are taught in German, with care taken to maintain the level of English acquired. To this end, students are offered English courses that include a Cambridge exam (KET/PET/FIRST), enabling them to transfer to English-speaking schools.
Classes for secondary school I students begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m. Lunch is taken together by the students. There are no classes on Wednesday afternoons, and on Fridays, classes end at 3:30 p.m.
