In August, we started the school year with a first highlight: our whole-school overnight trip to Bollenwees – Plattenbödeli.
The weather was up to the occasion and allowed us to explorethe beauty of the Alpstein region. While hikingtowards our accommodationsfor the night, twopicture-postcardmountain huts, we had the chance to interact with new and old schoolmates and teachers, and get to know each other better! Before we knew it, it was timefor lunch and we sat down by a gorgeous lake. Not even the freezing cold water did stop some of us to jump in and refresh… Very brave indeed!
After lunch, we split into two groupsand while the older students continuedtheir way up to Bollenwees, the younger ones headed back to Plattenbödeli to spend the night in the cozy Gasthausthere. We all finished the day with a well-deserved dinneraccompanied by convivial chatter. Time for bed came and thus for some of the younger students the first night away from home. Everybody managed just great and so the teachers were also treated to an uninterrupted and restful night’s sleep.
The next day, we all woke up to the sound of nature and the fresh morning air. Breakfast was served and once more, weenjoyed each other’s company in this wonderfuland unique setting. As we all finally retraced our steps back down the mountain, we all acknowledged with smiles and thoughts how nice this outing was for all. Certainly, a revitalising start to the new school year!
