For the second year in a row, students from PURA VIDA took part in the world-wide Kangaroo International Competition in Mathematics. This yearly event tests individual pupils’ ability to solve problems in a mathematical context and is available from the 3rd grade up to grade 10.
After a short informational input by the teachers, the students proceeded, with their laptops and pens in hand, upstairs to the 3rd floor where they scattered throughout the available space: in the rooms, on the floor, on the sofa, in the hallways, in the podcast room. The main purpose of which was mainly to find a place where concentration and focus was at the forefront . The students, sorted by age and grade, were then given 45 to 75 minutes to accomplish their given tasks of answering 30 «Kangaroo-Questions».
At the end, many of the participants were exhausted but also happy to have navigated the competition successfully. Their break was well-earned. After all, there were prizes to be won…
