Visit to “MCD” – November 2023

As part of their WAH classes (Economics, Work, Home Economics), the 9th graders had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at a McDonald’s operation.

During our visit, we gained a fascinating insight into the operations, production methods, and stringent hygiene protocols of the establishment. We were not only allowed a glimpse into the kitchen but also had the chance to explore all other areas of the company, including the staff quarters, storage facilities, and sanitation areas. This provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the various facets of the operation, offering a holistic view of the company’s workings.

At lunchtime, we observed the McDonald’s team in action, handling ongoing orders both at the sales counter and in the drive-thru restaurant. The team’s friendly and open approach was particularly impressive – our visit was greatly appreciated. Besides sampling a selection of burgers, we also got to taste delicious and innovative donuts with various flavors.

In the subsequent class session, we gathered and discussed interesting facts and risks associated with consuming fast food. Armed with lasting impressions and newfound knowledge about the fast-food giant, we will approach future visits to McDonald’s from a different perspective.
