Meglisalp hike 18 / 19.8.2016

Pura Vida Privatschule St. Gallen - Projekttage
At the end of our week of getting to know each other, we went on a two-day hike in the Alpstein. Equipped with hiking boots and backpacks, we set out on Thursday morning to climb the Meglisalp. While we were still traveling leisurely by train and cable car at the beginning, we finally had to “take to our heels” at Ebenalp. Our path led us from Ebenalp down to the beautiful Seealpsee, where we stopped for a rest. However, this was short-lived, as the weather forecast had unexpectedly worsened and quite a bit of rain was on the way. In a feat of strength we climbed the Meglisalp together and just made it dry to the hostel. After setting up the sleeping places and a change of clothes, we then spent a nice evening with a fine meal and playing games together at the Meglisalp inn. The next morning the weather was kind to us again and a blue sky welcomed us. After a hearty breakfast, we made our way back to St. Gallen invigorated. With the weather now better, we were able to enjoy the wonderful view over the Seealpsee and there was even time to take another rest there. After the final descent to Wasserauen, we all boarded the train back to St. Gallen, tired but happy. It was a successful start to the new school year.
